I recommend images are kept simple in blog posts, because galleries don’t work so well without using the visual builder.
When including images in blog posts, simply include them at full size via the “add media” button

You can also include smaller images, but make sure they are centre-aligned otherwise the text will wrap around in weird ways.
Above is a medium image
Below is a large one. Large may look the same as full size depending on your site width.
